To avoid any data breaches, any files including student personal data need to be encrypted and password protected prior to sending.

To password protect a file or folder:

  1. Right click on the file or folder to password protect and select ‘7-Zip’ > ‘Add to Archive…’

Please Note: If you are doing this for multiple files or folders they should be added to one folder.

2. On the next Window change the Archive format to ‘zip’ and enter a password.

By doing this you will create a ZIP file and all the contents inside it will be protected with the password provided.

To attach it to an email simply drag and drop the ZIP folder onto the email message.
