1. Open Microsoft Teams

2. Navigate to your class Team

3. Click ‘Assignments’ on the left-hand panel

4. Press the cog icon in the top right corner

5. Turn on the setting ‘New students will receive assignments created before they join the class’

If a new student has been added but this setting has not yet been turned on:

1. Navigate to the class and select Assignments.

2. Pick the assignment in your list or search for it by keyword in the command box.

3. Select the More icon ... > Edit.

4. Navigate to the Assign to field and choose the option for Individual students.
