Problem
Your microphone is not showing any noise when it is plugged into your laptop.
Solution
There could be a variety of causes for this. However, a common one is that the microphone is muted within Sound Settings.
To enable it again:
Type ‘Sound Settings’ into the search bar at the bottom of your screen.
Scroll down to the ‘Input’ section
Click the microphone icon so that there is no longer a line going through it
