Here are some common fixes for issues with televisions and monitors.

Display Settings

Some options to try:

  • If you are connecting to a monitor using a docking station try clicking Windows Key + P.
  • If you are connecting to a monitor wirelessly through your laptop try clicking Windows Key + K
  • Right click on your desktop and select 'Display Settings' then change the drop down to either duplicate or extend your displays
  • When using a laptop, monitor and TV go to 'Display Settings' again. Ensure that display 1 (laptop) is showing as 'duplicate desktop on 1 and 3' - this will make sure that your laptop is duplicated on the TV.

Click on Display 2 (monitor) and ensure it is showing as 'extend desktop on this display'. You can then use this monitor to do other work which students won't be able to see e.g. marking registers.

On the TV Remote

Try changing the source from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 (or vice versa)

Difficulties with Showing PowerPoints on Monitor or TV

Navigate to the “Slide Show” tab > Click on the “Monitor” drop-down > Select “Monitor 2 Samsung” and this will display your presentation notes on your monitor, the presentation will then be displayed on the TV.
