Description:

If you are using a Mac then you need to ensure you have the Microsoft Remote Desktop app installed (this is free via the Apple App Store). This is required no matter which web browser you are using.  However even if you have installed the latest version of the app the remote access still may be using an old app.

Solution:

To ensure you are using the latest app:

  • Download the Runshaw-RDS client from our site (as detailed in the instruction on the remote access page)
  • The client will go into your Downloads folder (usually accessible from Finder)
  • Right click on the downloaded file (as below) & select Open With

  • Select Microsoft Remote Desktop (10.?.? depending on the version you have)
  • Once you have selected Microsoft Remote Desktop, they should see a login box (as below)


Macs With Older OS

Remote Desktop v10 does not support older OS versions so you may need to install version 8.

A copy of version 8 is attached below, you will need to download & double click to extract it to your mac
