Your recorded Teams meetings are saved to Teams & by default are only accessible by the people in the Teams group or meeting.

If you want to share them with others, who you don't want to add to the Teams group, you will need to give them access before Sharing.

Microsoft are in the process of moving Teams videos from MS Stream to OneDrive. The instructions in this document are for Stream, if your video doesn't have an option to open in Stream then it will be in the Recordings folder on your OneDrive account or, if the meeting was created in a channel then it will be in the Recordings folders in files section of that channel.  The link below has instructions for sharing files from OneDrive & Files in Teams.

MS Stream


Give Permission

  • Open the video in Stream (from Teams click on ... to see options )

  • Select ... (More Actions)

  • Select Update Video Details
  • Under Permissions select People in Share with 
  • Search for the person & select them
  • Click Apply at the top

To Share

  • You can either select Share from Stream or from Teams (click on ... to see options)

  • Select Share
  • You have options copy a link or email it directly (please note the email is sent from Stream not from your own account)

Send to External User

There is no option to share a video with an external user,  The file has to be downloaded and sent (via email or you can share from OneDrive)

  • Click on the video in Stream
  • Click on ... for More Actions

  • Select Download Video


If the file is too large to send you can upload to OneDrive and share from there
