If you are sharing/presenting your screen to others, whilst in class, in a meeting or using Teams Voice for example, you can negate Teams notifications appearing by switching your user profile on Teams to Do Not Disturb. Follow the Instructions below:

In Microsoft Teams,

  • Select your user icon in the top right-hand corner
  • Select 'Available' (or whatever your current status is)
  • Select 'Do Not Disturb'

The Microsoft Teams ‘Do not disturb‘ status will turn the green ‘Available’ status indicator to red but, it will also block messages and calls from everyone unless they are urgent.

If you decide that you would like specific people to be able to contact you whilst in Do Not Disturb mode, you can complete this by following the steps below:

  • Select your user icon again,
  • Select 'Manage Account'

  • Next, select 'Privacy'
  • Then Select 'Manage Priority Access'

  • Here you will be able to and users who you would like to receive notifications from whilst in Do Not Disturb mode.
