Unlicensed Product in Microsoft

Unlicensed Product in Microsoft

Description

When accessing Microsoft Office, if you see the below message appear which states ‘UNLICENSED PRODUCT’ there is a process to ensure that you can fix this.

Solution

  1. Please close all other Office apps (PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote etc) and open Microsoft Word.

  2. Toward the top right your name/ID will be displayed, click this and ‘sign out’. If a prompt appears press ‘Yes’.  If there is no option to sign out, select File - Account - Sign Out

  3. Once signed out, it will now ask you to sign in (from the same area of the screen). When signing in input your STAFFID@runshaw.ac.uk (if staff) or STUDENTID@student.runshaw.ac.uk (if a student).

  4. Once you have managed to sign in, close Word and reopen the application. The unlicensed error will now no longer be displayed and all apps can be opened as normal.

Notes

  • Do not try to create, edit or save any documents whilst the UNLICENSED PRODUCT message is displayed as it will not link to your OneDrive or shared area to save correctly.

  • If the issue persists, please log a ticket on the Service Desk Portal and we will endeavour to assist you further.
