Microsoft Teams - How to Create a Group Chat

Written Guide

1) Open Microsoft Teams

2) Click the ‘Pencil and Paper’ button on the top left of the screen

3) Click the down arrow on the right hand side of the ‘To:’ field

4) Add a group name for your chat and add the names of the people you would like in the chat.



5) To add more participants click the purple add icon in the corner of the chat. You can also remove people from here.

 Please note: other members of the chat will not see that it has been created until you send the first message, To create a chat with students you will need to add their student emails rather than just their names.
