Auto Pastoral Log From Email
If you email a student and BCC plogdrop@runshaw.ac.uk it will automatically add a pastoral log for that student with the contents of the email.
Creating an email from Student Record (on Staff Portal)
Locate the student record, under tasks and tools (under student photo), select Create Email
Select the required recipients and click Create Email
If Student (Internal Email) is selected a BCC will be added to the email “plogdrop@runshaw.ac.uk”
Alternatively, you can manually add plogdrop@runshaw.ac.uk (or search Pastoral Log Drop in the address book) to the BCC field when creating your message in Outlook.
Notes
All students in the To/Cc field will automatically get a Pastoral Log generated with the contents of the email.
Any attachments will be uploaded to the Pastoral Log (in-line attachments such as images will not be uploaded)
Pastoral logs should be added within a few minutes of sending the email but please allow up to one hour.
The Pastoral Log Drop email address is not monitored manually.
Why is it not creating a pastoral log for me?
The plogdrop machine can only read the To and Cc line. If you are emailing multiple students using BCC, it will not work.
Ensure you have emailed the student's college email account (e.g. ABC12345678@student.runshaw.ac.uk) - emails to personal accounts will not be added to pastoral log.
Emails sent to parents/guardians can't be read.
Please ensure you are using your own mailbox to send the message - messages from shared/team mailboxes can't be read.
Forwarded emails can't be read unless the student is included in the forwarded message.
