Department/School Shared OneDrive
All teams groups have a sharepoint location which can be accessed by anyone in the team group & works in the same way as OneDrive, files can be uploaded to this location, you can drag and drop files on or you can create new files directly.
If you want to restrict access to any files you can create a private channel & place the files in there.
MS Teams - Create Private Channel / Private OneDrive Shared Area
The files in these areas can be accessed in various ways.
From Teams
In teams go to the group & you will see a Files tab at the top,
You can create files directly (from the New menu)
Like OneDrive you can open files from within Teams (just click on it) & this opens it in the web version of Office. If you need to open in the full office version click to the left of the file name to select it & then choose Open - Open in app
From OneDrive
You will see any shared groups under Shared Libraries in the left hand menu
From File Explorer
You can sync the share so you can view and access the files from your file explorer.
From the Files menu in teams:
Select Open in SharePoint
Click on the Sync option
Select Sync now
Select Open Microsoft OneDrive
You will now see a Runshaw College folder in your file explorer with folders for any synced areas
